UPDATE 3/23/05: Because of permanent damage to his heart from heartworms, Horse is not a candidate for surgery and cannot be safely neutered or have dental work. Horse had dropped down to 55 pounds, but is doing well now with medication and is up to 75 pounds. He is happy and will live out his life with his foster Mom and CARE; he is not available for adoption. Horse is being seen by the Cardiology Department at the University of Illinois on a regular basis. In addition to these expenses, his medication will be about $150 a month and he will need to remain on these for life. CARE appreciates any donations to help with his expenses.
Horse is a very sweet Foxhound who was found in Crawford County, Illinois. He is very underweight, heartworm positive, needs some serious dental work and of course, has not been neutered yet (We are waiting for his heartworm treatment to be finished). Horse has had his first treatment for heartworm and is recovering well.
We are asking for your financial support to help rehabilitate Horse. He is getting housetrained, loves his pillow beds, and is bigger than the average Foxhound -- he weighs in at about 70 pounds, but he should weigh closer to 85 pounds.
Horse would LOVE a Kuranda dog bed!!!

So far, we have raised, $570.00 towards Horse's medical bills!
